Plantation Rum

Plantation rum has been taking the cocktail and spirits world by storm over the last few years.  In addition to the standard lineup of light and dark rum that most brands offer, Plantation has been responsible a range of new expressions and single cask selections.  If you are not familiar with the Plantation Pineapple rum that won best new spirit at Tales of the Cocktail recently, read up on it in this piece in the New York Times and run out and grab a bottle.

We had the opportunity to sample (drink the whole bottle) one of the single cask expressions, an 8 year Panama rum finished in pineau casks, during Episode 5.

Episode 7 – The Beer Wench with Ashley Routson

Tonight we are joined by beer expert, author, and blogger Ashley Routson to talk about some of the darker corners of the service industry.  She recently picked up and came to be with family in Michigan to deal with issues of mental health and addiction.
